Consultant in Infectious Diseases (M.D., Ph.D.), with extensive experience in antimicrobial therapy and the management of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms.
I have treated infections in immunocompromised patients—including those with autoimmune diseases, cancer, and HIV—and I have broad expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of healthcare-associated (nosocomial) infections, as well as advising patients on potential reimbursement of treatment costs.
My specialty training began at the National Institute for Infectious Diseases “Matei Balș,” Bucharest, and continued at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), Netherlands. I subsequently completed advanced courses in Germany, Switzerland, and England, and collaborated with leading professors and researchers at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, publishing in both Romanian and international journals.
I was the first infectious-diseases specialist employed by a multidisciplinary hospital (Brașov County Emergency Clinical Hospital) to develop antibiotic stewardship policies aimed at restricting inappropriate antibiotic prescriptions (Viața Medicală, 2003).
Certificate of Competence in Hospital Management — National School of Public Health and Health Management (SNSPMS), Ministry of Health (2011)
