
Dr. Larisa-Maria Geafer (Catrinescu) is a passionate and dedicated Psychiatry Specialist, with a solid clinical background built during her 7-year residency at the "Prof. Dr. Alexandru Obregia" Clinical Hospital of Psychiatry in Bucharest (2019–2025).
She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy (2012–2018) and holds a Master’s degree in Management of Social and Health Services from the University of Bucharest (2019–2021) , thereby acquiring a comprehensive perspective on public health policies and medical systems organization.
In addition to her day-to-day clinical practice, Dr. Geafer has a keen interest in scientific research, co-authoring numerous papers, posters, and articles published at both national and international levels (such as the psychiatry congresses in Lisbon and Paris).
Her primary research areas include the correlations between metabolic conditions and mental disorders (such as the link between Alzheimer's disease and diabetes, or the role of leptin and metabolic syndrome in depression and mood disorders) , as well as quality of life and combating the stigmatization of patients with mental health conditions.
